Andrea Tomasini

Software Development Process Analyst & Consultant

First things first... Who am I?

I am an Italian man, if you live in Germany and you are called Andrea this is not that obvious. I am live in Berlin with my partner Marion. Generally speaking I am an enthusiastic and optimistic person who likes to explore and gain new experiences. I have a son, Gabriele, he is a really good kid and I am very proud of him.

What do I do?

For more than 15 years I have been working in the IT arena, specifically in the Software Development branch. I had the chance to learn about a lot of technologies and programming languages (both Open Source and proprietary). During the past 7 years I have focused my attention and energy on the study, analysis and improvement of the "Software Development Process", as well as all the related methodologies and Best Practices. My goal is to optimize the End-to-End software production, starting from the conception through to the delivery and support.

I have had the chance to work with a lot of highly-trained professionals and share our experience and knowledge. During the past 3 years in particular, I have personally lead and supervised process improvement projects, including the implementation and integration of supporting tools. Working with Network Computer House (NCH) as a CTO, together with a team of experienced professionals, I had the chance to develop a system that integrates the various tools involved in the software development process into a seamless and easy-to-use process environment. I am always at the customers' side to find the best solution to solve their specific needs and successfully roll-out consistent and performing processes.

Since some years I am making heavy usage of Agile Methodologies in various phases of the development process. I am particularly fond in the Lean Development approach and practices. I have been successfully helping some small and medium enterprises to switch to Agile Methods in the last couple of years, supporting the Management and helping the companies in sustaining the cultural change.

I wrote numerous articles and papers (Paper.pdf) on Software Development Process, and was a participating speaker to several conferences on the topic.
